I saw the Lord pointing at a dark, smoke-like, clouded area ahead.  The darkness was denser than smoke, and that area was clearly evil.  The Lord then revealed, as in a previous vision, that people were lying flat on the ground, oppressed by demons.  One particular image was that of an enemy warrior’s foot on the head of one of the people lying on the ground.

The Lord then said that what I am coming against by the Holy Spirit cannot be defeated by speaking the truth alone.  One must come with the truth and the Person of Jesus.  Again, the Scripture is coupled with the presence of Jesus, who is the truth; the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth (Jn 14:17).  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.”  Jesus also said, ”You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me” (John 5:39 NASB95) and John 6:44, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.”

One cannot defeat deception and false teaching by truth alone.  The Truth is a person, who is Christ Jesus.  The Bible teaches, and the Holy Spirit has emphasized to me that we must stay behind the Holy Spirit, the Glory of the Lord, as He advances against the enemy.   This is confirmed by what the leaders said to the people before they crossed the Jordan into the promised land.  They were directed to follow the ark of the covenant at a distance of 2000 cubits (Joshua 3:4).  The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus, goes ahead and penetrates the darkness.

The darkness I saw in the vision was intense, and a clear boundary separated the light and the darkness ahead of me (Note: there was no grey area).  I then watched as Jesus penetrated the darkness (in full armor) and bent down, taking hold of a person on the ground who was oppressed by the devil.  The spot where this person was lying in darkness changed to light.  After picking up the person, Jesus (clothed as the Ancient Warrior) brought them to the area of light.

As Jesus picked up the person and brought them into the light, the Lord was full of joy and smiled.  As He takes people out of the darkness, He takes territory.  It is not land for land’s sake.  No!  It is about the people.  The Lord then looked at me and spoke, saying, “You are allowing Me to do this.”  By aligning with the Holy Spirit, we become the way He flows through us, delivering people out of darkness into the kingdom of God!  When we decide to align with His instructions and obey, the kingdom of God advances.  We must follow the promptings and leadings of the Holy Spirit!  The Church can only take territory by aligning with the Holy Spirit.

As we are aligned with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit brings people to Jesus.  Only the Holy Spirit has the power and the authority to convict people of their sin:

And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. (John 16:8–11, NASB95)

We can speak truth, but without the Holy Spirit, we cannot penetrate the darkness.  Jesus said the following, “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life’” (John 8:12, NASB95).

Again, without the Spirit of truth, who is Jesus, there is no way to penetrate the darkness to set people free.  Where the Spirit is, there is liberty (2 Cor 3:17), and there is life, because that is who Jesus is:  “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5, emphasis mine).

This is progressive revelation that the Lord shared with me time and time again.  No one can be taken out of the darkness without Jesus taking them out through us.  He does it through us.  Jesus’ sacrifice paid the price to defeat spiritual darkness.

Regarding ministry meetings, revelation from the Holy Spirit will be required.  The truth will go forth.  Jesus said to the Church of Pergamum that He would war against those who would not repent with the sword of His mouth (Rev 2:16). This is nothing to be trifled with.  His sword is devastating against darkness.

I then saw the Lord taking people, seemingly at random, out of the area of darkness before me.  Each area deep behind the enemy lines where a person emerged was filled with light.

This is how the Lord will move worldwide through ministers who surrender to and follow His Spirit.

The Dark Warrior

I then saw a warrior who was powerful in wickedness.  The Lord then revealed that he was actually a pastor in a church.  He had become a mighty warrior of Hell, cloaked in the enemy’s armor.  The Lord was saying to me, “Do you see this?”

In the vision, I zoomed in on the warrior’s breastplate.  Looking at the breastplate’s intricacy and how it was crafted, I could see it was made of multiple layers.  These layers had built up over time, so each time the pastor resisted the Holy Spirit, another layer was added.  Over time, every part of the dark armor covering the pastor became stronger and stronger.  Every time they resisted, another part of the armor was added until they were unwittingly encased in the enemy’s armor.  They had allowed the enemy to place this armor upon them, resisting everything that is of the Spirit and of God, hating the truth.

I could see this pastor from inside the armor.  It was as if they were the operator of a tank, encased and controlled by the enemy.  The enemy, not them, was in control of the armor – they were just inside of it.  I then sensed the Lord asking me to ask Him, “How is that armor penetrated?”  It was then made clear that He would penetrate the armor by His word in my mouth.  Not my word, but His word in my mouth.  (Note – I then saw the Lord as a warrior superimposed over me, which harkens back to the revelation of in Him, by Him, and through Him.

I then saw Jesus thrust His sword, point-first, through the armor encasing the pastor.  It was not to kill the pastor, but to destroy the dark armor.  When the Lord thrust His sword through, the pastor’s armor fell off around his feet, and he fell to his knees, weeping and repenting.  As the pastor wept, he said, “I didn’t know.  I didn’t know that the enemy had blinded my eyes!  I didn’t know!  I didn’t know!”

These leaders are to be restored and used, but they must be watched.  They will need to be discipled; discipleship will be required.  But they must be watched very closely; the Lord will watch them, and so must we.

Then I saw behind this one pastor who had been set free, a group of warriors in black armor.  They were other pastors.  Once the first pastor was set free, a rippling wave of the Spirit’s power went forth against them.  The force and power of God hit them as a direct result of the first pastor being delivered from the darkness.  His deliverance will affect other leaders; it was as if the enemy’s influence over them was weakened.  I then knew in my spirit that the Lord would take back leaders and restore them to be ministers of His Spirit.

I then saw a multitude of leaders.  One by one, they will be delivered and taken out of the enemy’s armor, just as the first.  They will come out.  These are false prophets, evangelists, and others who currently operate as false ministers.  They are false, but the Lord will bring them into the light; some will fall back into the darkness.  This is a warning to the Church not to be captivated by a pastor who falls back into darkness.  This is a grave warning; we are called to follow Christ, not man, no matter what their spiritual title may be.

Once those pastors and ministers fall away from the Lord again, they will draw other believers, who were also delivered from darkness, back into it.  These leaders will return to darkness because of pride and a lack of humility, disregarding the truth.  Their followers will love these leaders rather than Jesus.  They will be overly enamored with what they think is knowledge but is actually deception.  I then heard the Lord say to me that when this happens, “Let them go and surrender them to Me.”

As the vision progressed, I then saw the Lord take His sword against the leader who had been delivered and had drawn other believers back into the darkness.  This time, instead of thrusting His sword directly forward, He swung it across and through the leader.  The Lord will judge them, and they will perish.  In this way, the Lord will draw the sheep back to Himself.  The judgment of the Lord against leaders who drift back into darkness will be swift.
