The Lord spoke to me saying, “In the days ahead the sin of presumption will be dangerous if not deadly.”  One could say it is similar to a grenade, hidden from sight set with a trip wire – certainly dangerous and potentially lethal.  In short, we as the Church have crossed into a new season where we must follow the Holy Spirit by hearing His voice and seeing what He is doing in order to navigate what He called in 2014 “dangerous and perilous times”.  Unfortunately, the sin of presumption is standard operating procedure among His leaders in the Church, to say nothing of the Church at large. We must repent of this sin by asking and waiting (something we all hate to do) for revelation from the Holy Spirit.

Conducting any form of “ministry” just because it is the “Christian thing to do” is not ministry, no matter how good our intentions are.  The goal is His will, not our will.

Presumption is rebellion against the Lord. This sin is deep in the spiritual DNA of our fallen nature and requires our asking the Holy Spirit how, not if, we are moving in this sin.  Our prayer to the Lord should be David’s –  Psalm 19:13 (NASB95) — 13 Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.

The sin of presumption is like bad breath; we are always the last to know. With the help of the Holy Spirit, this video series will give you a solid overview of a number of Biblical characters that paid a heavy price for their sin(s) of presumption.  You may be surprised how many Bible examples there are.

May the Lord help all of us in our journeys to avoid tripping the presumption grenades.
