Download PDF version:  To the 32+ Million Christians On the Sidelines:  A Christian Minister’s Testimony Regarding Voting for Trump in 2024

First of all, I get it.  From a Christian perspective, the Republican Party and Donald Trump shifted their platform compromising on abortion and homosexual marriage that caused you and me to shift from a “no-brainer” decision to vote for Trump, to feeling betrayed, angry and appalled.  Donald Trump’s shift from fighting to strike down Roe vs. Wade during his first term, to taking a hands-off approach at the state level, a tactic that reminded me of Pontius Pilate washing his hands and surrendering Jesus to the Jews in Matthew 27:24, demonstrated a massive shift in his thinking.  But that wasn’t enough for the former president.  He then stated that he would vote for Florida’s proposed constitutional Amendment 4, that would open the floodgates allowing even non-doctors to perform abortions at any time and would eliminate the need of parental consent for minors.  The fact that Trump would even consider, let alone advocate for this amendment brought you and I, and no doubt millions of others, to the crossing point to decide to abstain from voting for Trump or Harris.

Again, from the Christian perspective, the idea of voting for Vice President Harris was clearly off the table.  Without morals and without respect for the Constitution of the United States, her pro-abortion stance, her lack of concern for defending our borders, as well as her demonstrated incompetence, along with her record, made it easy to not even contemplate voting for her.

Prior to the shift in the Republican Party platform and Trump’s walk of compromise, the difference between him and Harris was day and night; light and darkness.  I had prepared to vote for Trump.  Overnight, he lost my vote.

Revelation from the Holy Spirit

My journey concerning receiving revelation from the Lord concerning judgment coming to the United States began in 2013.  In October of that year, to say that I began to feel uneasy would be an understatement.  I felt I was in a spiritual free-fall and didn’t know why.  The feeling lasted for the entire month, during which I was seeking the Lord as to what my problem was.  The Holy Spirit then spoke saying, “You will have to surrender America to Me to do what I need to do.”  That was it!  I had been praying for years that the Lord would bring a revival and outpouring of His Spirit to our country and spare us from judgment.  The Lord knew that, and that wasn’t the path He had chosen.  I had to die to my hearts dream for America; judgment was now a certainty and it was dead ahead.  He has confirmed that many times over the past 11 years.

That was an especially dark and difficult day for me.  The realization that judgment would come prior to revival made my heart sick, but I had to surrender my desire for America to the Lord’s desire.  I made the decision at the end of October 2013 to surrender America to the Lord.  Since that time, the Lord has led me through the Bible during countless hours of study to help me understand why His decision to bring judgment was right and just.  From that perspective, the past four years have been judgment released from the Lord beginning with Covid-19, a plague of Biblical proportions that circumvented the world, is clearly outlined in Leviticus 26:14-17.

However, even the Church cannot and will not accept this Biblical truth because it confronts the lack of Biblical understanding that is pervasive in the Church, to say nothing of America.

Voting for Jesus

With this foundational Biblical understanding and having to surrender the country you and I love to the Lord in 2013, I arrived at the conclusion that I did have a choice in the election; that was to vote for Jesus and surrender America to Him again.  Trump made the hypocritical decision to defend America’s border but refused to defend the border of the womb.  I could not vote for Donald Trump with a clear conscience before the Lord.  I could be wrong, but I believe many of us came to the same conclusion.  We fear God and uphold the sanctity of life at the moment of conception.  It is the Holy Spirit that brings forth the miracle of life; we honor Him by defending the innocent unborn.

The Lord spoke to me many years ago revealing that He would release a plague against abortion clinics that would bring final victory against this evil.  The victory would clearly be His, but the Catholic Church are those who have faithfully stood against this evil.  From the Lord’s point of view, many Protestant denominations have not been faithful in the fight.

This type of revelation over the years guided me in my initial decision not to vote for Trump.  It had become an abhorrent thought.

Concerning Franklin Graham

A portion of the following was originally released in my article, The Heart Sickening Hypocrisy, Blasphemy and Apostasy of America (August 8, 2024).  When a people stand and commit slaughter, they receive slaughter – we will reap what we have sown (Jer 7:32-33; Gal 6:7).  Christians, along with many of their leaders, including Franklin Graham, the de factor leader of the American Church, said they were offended by the blasphemy portrayed during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.  Franklin claimed Galatians 6:7, warning the committee in Paris responsible for homosexual laden drama, “…God will not be mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap,” conveniently leaving out, “Do not be deceived…”  Regrettably, the hypocrisy of his statement returned with boomerang force.

Franklin Graham, certainly recognized and leveraged by the Republican Party during their recent convention, forgot that boomerangs are designed to return to the hypocrite that throw them.  He did not preach against the platform of the RNC regarding their compromised position on abortion or homosexuality.  Instead, he capitulated, appearing to bless those who stand in their sin.  He perpetrates the lie that in order to save the country, Christians must view the political process as moves in a “game of chess,” and must be willing to embrace the compromise, which is clear for all to read in the GOP platform and is now articulated by former President Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.

Again, by revelation from the Lord, He stated, “I do not play games like the Church.”  Rest assured; the Lord is not playing a game with America or His Church!  What the Lord has allowed the Republican Party to build, He can tear down.

The lie of “game of chess” idea is refuted by the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth and the life.  Christians are called to stand for the truth of the Bible and preach the Gospel.  The Lord will not negotiate a peace with America or His Church; He demands an unconditional surrender.  He will not accept any terms.  Compromise leads to

God’s judgment: the Republicans have set a course that cannot be blessed by the Lord.  If Franklin Graham and his followers do not realize that, then they stand guilty of blatant hypocrisy  and must repent for supporting the wickedness of abortion and homosexual sin, in all of its manifestations and perversions.  The Republican Party should be severely rebuked for refusing to take a firm stand against the abomination of killing the unborn and the sin of homosexuality.  The Church must rebuke the GOP for their blasphemy the same way it rebuked the committee for the opening ceremonies at the Paris Olympics.  Without doing so, the Church stands guilty of hypocrisy.  Franklin whiffed the tee-ball set up to preach the Gospel to Paris Olympics committee, and again at the RNC – two worldwide platforms.

This appalling lack of leadership from Graham again caused me to contemplate my “voting for Jesus” stance and allowing the bullet of judgment to fly by that I could not stop because America was standing against the Lord.  The Holy Spirit spoke these words to me years ago:  “Woe to those who stand against Me in the day of My wrath!”  Who was I to stand in His way?!

And yet I continued to seek the Lord concerning this weighty decision.

The Turning Point

It was clear to me, and to you, that if Harris won the election, an abyss of chaos and evil would be allowed to run rampant in America, as it has over the past four years.  When the Lord releases judgment, no one can stop it.  Judgment brings a cleansing to a nation.  That is what it is designed to do.  The certainty of the evil that would come continued to weigh heavily on my mind.

During the week of October 14^th, the Lord released a dream to me commanding me to pray for Donald Trump’s strength during the campaign.  It took me until the end of the week to clearly understand that the Lord was speaking to me and that I must submit and pray.

During our church service on Sunday, October 20, 2024, the Lord began to open my mind to an alternative and Biblical viewpoint that I knew but had not yet caused me to change my course.  It was simply that not voting for some of the good still in Trump, even though I do not believe that he has committed his life to Christ, was not a wise choice.  My mind recalled the story of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, who reigned from 872-848 B.C.  He was a conflicted individual in that he was compromised in his choices by family ties.  He had married into the evil family of king Ahab, the king of Israel, notably one of the evilest rulers in the entire nation since the formation of the nation of Israel.  It was his compromise to please his wife’s family, which caused Jehoshaphat to be judged by the Lord, not once, but three times.  He was confronted by the Lord’s prophets, including Micaiah, Elisha, and Jehu.  It was Jehu who rebuked Jehoshaphat saying, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord and so bring wrath on yourself from the Lord?  But there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asheroth from the land and you have set your heart to seek God (2 Chron 19:2b-3, NASB95).

Understanding Melania Trump’s appalling position regarding abortion, it is clear that Donald has succumbed to his wife’s counsel, which is a great tragedy.

During that service, the Holy Spirit fell upon me.  He revealed that the hardness of the hearts of American’s would not allow Trump to take an uncompromising position on abortion or homosexuality.  This I understood, but the Lord was confirming the truth.

My mind was then opened to the account of Moses interceding time and time again for the Hebrews during their journey to the promise land.  Even before Moses could descend Mt. Sinai with the tablets of stone where the Lord had written down the ten commandments, the people had fallen into idolatry and were completely out of control (Ex 32:1-24).  The situation was so grave, the Lord revealed to Moses that He was intent on destroying the entire nation.  However, Moses immediately interceded for them, causing the Lord to change His mind (Ex 32:9-14).  Moses’ intercession saved the nation, but judgment still came to the people for worshiping the calf that Aaron had crafted for them (Ex 32:32-35).  Moses couldn’t prevent it.

Over many years, I have prayed for America to turn again to the Living God and that through and His promised outpouring of His Holy Spirit, revival and a great harvest of souls would turn the tide in America.  It was during the encounter with the Lord on October 20^th, that I saw a path to stand for what good is in Trump, while continuing to intercede for America, all the while knowing that judgment will come even if he is elected.  In one sense, his decision not to protect the border of the womb has sealed the need for judgment.

In addition, all of us must remember that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8).  We must continue to stand against the apostasy, hypocrisy and blasphemy of America and the Church.  We must preach the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we intercede and fight for our nation.

The Point of Action

As a result of the above, this week on Tuesday, October 22^nd, I voted for Trump and other Republican candidates here in Georgia.  My conscience is clear.  I stand with the Lord and His children, the unborn.  This ministry financially supports our local Christian pregnancy center that ministers to women, saving countless children every year.

As a prophet of the Lord, I condemn the compromise of the Republican Party and Donald Trump.  I will not condone their sin, but I see some good in Donald Trump.  I will surrender him to the Lord, just as I have surrendered America to Him.  I pray that the Lord will cause Donald and Melania, and their family, to repent and turn with a whole heart to the Lord.  I refuse to play a political game of chess, a lie deeply embedded in the psyche of the Church.  I will preach the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Lord also spoke to me that it was important that each person vote according to their conscience.  My counsel to you is to invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you regarding your decision, if you haven’t already, and to ask Him to reveal portions of Scripture that will give you a solid footing upon which to make a decision.

Looking ahead, I will share with you what the Lord spoke to me in 2014 which was, “Dangerous and perilous days are ahead.  Stay in My Glory.”  These are the dangerous and perilous days of which the Holy Spirit spoke and more will come.  The only protection for you and your family is to seek the Lord while He may be found and pray that He will reveal His Glory to you so that you can abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Ps 91:1b).  All of us must have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church in this hour.  That only comes with a humble and contrite heart, confessing that we are blind, naked, wretched, miserable and poor (Rev 3:17).

Be encouraged and let us trust the Lord to use us to speak in the name of the Lord and to uphold the Name of Jesus Christ, who is the King of kings (and presidents) and Lord of lords.  May He prophesy through you to a compromised America and may we surrender America to the Lord to do what must be done to turn the country back to Him and save the unborn that He created.
