A church that shuts the mouth of the Holy Spirit on Sunday morning and keeps Him from freely entering His Church to minister to His flock with Living Water and Life Giving Bread will lose its freedom.  Where the Spirit is there is liberty….and only where the Holy Spirit is!  The cost of restricting the freedom of the Holy Spirit (which is rebelling against Heaven’s authority) is bondage in all of its manifestations.

When the Church decides it doesn’t want the manifestations of Heaven, the devil is more than happy to fill the Church and the nation it is called to serve with the manifestations of hell.  Neither a church, nor a nation, nor an individual can refuse the Holy Spirit and get away with it, year in and year out, decade in and decade out.  Losing our freedom of speech is but one manifestation of judgment that the Lord is allowing and will allow, unless His Church repents and follows the dictates of the Holy Spirit, rather than dictating to Him.

I would submit that our greatest threat is neither this society nor this nation’s government.  The Holy Spirit is the greatest threat to a church and a people that rebel against Him.  For the most part, the Church does not tolerate the Holy Spirit nor the Biblical manifestations of His power; this is completely intolerable to the Father and the Son who sent Him.
